look after the environment

Look after our environment
In my opinion I think you should look after the awesome planet. I believe you should pick up rubbish so the world isn't a big rubbish hole because that would stink. Some people don’t think and throw rubbish out the window when they are done like plastic so the outside of their house would look like a landfill.

If you don’t look after the environment you won't get to ride your motorbike but your motorbike spits out carbon monoxide to. Anyway putting rubbish on the ground wouldn't be good either. If you start your motorbike in the garage it fills up with heaps of carbon monoxide and makes it really toxic and then spreads out.

Our environment is going to be a landfill and if it is a landfill you won’t get to swim in water or drink it. If you can’t drink or swim in the water and you did drink or swim in it you would get really really sick. I don’t want people to be really really sick.

If there is rubbish everywhere it will be really hard to get to a place to another so please pick up rubbish so it won’t be to hard. I don’t put rubbish on the ground I only put my clothes on the ground. Put your rubbish in a rubbish bin or a recycle bin.

I think people should not put bale wrap and other stuff around water ways people just do that because people think that there is no where to put it. City people blame the farmers when the city are putting more rubbish on the ground then farmers are.

I sometimes feel disappointed because some people just put their rubbish on the ground instead of putting it in a rubbish bin or a recycle bin. I think some people should be like Wall-e who tries to clean the world but everyone keeps putting more and more rubbish everywhere. Wall-e is awesome because he try’s to clean the earth.

magic show

Magic tricks with food and stuff
On Wednesday afternoon there was a whole magic show for Kokatahi Kowhitirangi school in the hoiho class. When the pukeko class and the kea class went to the hoiho class the magic man was all ready for kokatahi kowhitirangi school and started when we sat down.

First there was cool music.then he started the magic and was being weird and funny. The magic man was also was making animals what were coming out of boxes and fans.

Next, we were talking about healthy eating. Then the magic man was saying greens instead of grains and was talking really weird.

Then he was putting food on the stuff to see what food you have to have everything that is healthy. But he was saying the words really really weird.

Last Vanessa went on the stag and the magic man gave her heaps of wounds because all the wounds cept bending. It was really funny when the wounds cept bending.

My favorite was when the magic man wound the cept popping off like a coke lid. I felt awesome when we sore the magic show.

Awesome visit to Duck creek

Awesome visit to Duck Creek
On Thursday the Kea class went for a visit to Duck Creek next to Kokatahi school. When we went to Duck Creek the Kea class wanted to find invertebrates.

First Michelle and Lauren came to our school and talked to the Kea class about what we were going to do. Then we looked at a map from where duck creek starts and ends.

Next, we went to Duck Creek and the water was really cold but when you stay in the water for a while it feels warmer. That was the time when the Kea class caught crazy big invertebrates.

Then, once we had got lots of invertebrates, we stopped and put the boxes with invertebrates on the ground. The invertebrates the Kea class found were heaps of dobsonflies, snails, and worms.

Last we went back to the classroom and talked about what invertebrates we found. The invertebrates were awesome at except for when one of the invertebrates bit me.

The visit to duck was awesome when you would pick up the invertebrates with your bare hands. When we went to Duck Creek it made me feel like I wanted to go there 1000 more times.

Riparian Planting

Riparian Planting
Riparian planting is when you plant trees, plants, and fences to keep rivers and creeks healthy.  Fences keep cows, pigs, goats and sheep out of the creeks and rivers.

Plants soak up the nutrient run off (poos and wees). If we don’t put fences around the creeks and rivers all the poos and wees will go in the ocean.

Farmers have fences around their rivers and creek so cows don’t poop in it. Farmers put lots of plants, trees, fences and flax around rivers and creeks.

They put the fences around the creeks and rivers because they don’t want cows, sheep, goats or pigs pooping or peeing in the rivers or creeks. They also put fences around the creek and because the cow poop and wee will pollute the rivers and creek.

In summary, I think you should put riparian planting around your creeks and rivers. You need to put riparian planting around your creeks and rivers.

The water cycle

The water cycle
Have you ever heard about the water cycle? The water cycle something that keeps going and never stops. Evaporation or transpiration is when the sun turns water into a liquid what is cooled water vapour. Condensation in our windows, cloud, and droplet. Precipitation is when it ran back in the lake.

Evaporation is something is when the sun turns water into a liquid what is cooled water vapor and makes clouds. Evaporation: water, vapor, sun, lake, plant, and transportation.

Condensation is when droplets form in clouds what is called Condensation. In the air, the droplets cool down and turn into droplets.

Prespertoishn is when sleet, hail, rain, or snow falls from the sky. When there are a lot of droplets in clouds is when they get very heavy.

In summary, the water cycle will keep going and will never stop. We also never get less water or more water.

When we planted a Banksia tree

When we planted a Banksia tree
On Tuesday morning the Kea class planted a banksia tree. The Kea class planted the banksia tree on the East side of Kokatahi Kowhitirangi school field. The Kea class planted the tree because we wanted to be more bird around and more oxygen.

First, we got a shovel, wheelbarrow, meter ruler and an iPad. Then we found a spot to plant the Banksia where there weren't many trees.

Next, Dom dug a hole that was shaped like a cube. Then Daniel put new soil in the hole and Billie mixed the new soil with the old soil.

Then, we planted the tall Banksia tree by putting. Rocco measured how tall the banksia was and it was 95 cm tall.

Last, we got a class of us with the banksia tree. At lunch time Morgon watered the banksia tree.

My favorite part was taking photos of the banksia tree. I liked it because I got to control the photos.
